Simple Living

I may have had all the opportunities to go abroad for training and work. I chose to stay in the Philippines. There are so many reasons. They maybe too idealistic but for me they are the best choices. Growing up in the barrios has reared me to a simple probinsyano who wanders around appreciating the beauty of nature, loving every color of simplicity.

Earning big money as an Internist is probably just a dream for now but I guess the biggest fulfillment of this specialist is garnering that security that someone will take care and look after for the health of his parents and siblings. Leaving the country isn't an option since the worry, of the folks growing old, warrants an everyday bonding that for sure no amount of money can repay. I make it sure that my Sundays now are free of work...uhmm part time off maybe...Sunday is time for my family in my simple barrio...Sunday is also time for my community work as a doctor. I'm getting paid from my weekday work in Makati, earning a little from my Saturday private clinic in Quezon City...and yes, I'm holding free clinics at home. This is to give back to the school and government who allowed me to finish Medical School for free (thanks to my 7 years of scholarship grant).

I'm back to taking pictures. Good bye to my old DSLR. She had guided my eyes and served me well. And now earning enough to sustain my daily needs, saving part of it to get another photo companion is one of my great acquisitions this year. Hopefully in the next few months, will bring her to more places and capture the beauty of colors and frames.

These are my simple joys.
